SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- The American Petroleum Institute reported a climb of 5.4 million barrels in crude supplies for the week ended April 27. The Energy Department had reported an increase of 1.1 million barrels.
Motor gasoline supplies were down 212,000 barrels, the API said. The government reported a drop of 1.1 million barrels.
Distillate supplies were up 2.9 million barrels, the API said, though the government said supplies were down 200,000 barrels for the week
