Boa tarde,
A generex tem actualmente um enorme pipeline de produtos cuja divulgação dos resultados clínicos (AE37 / Oral lyn) ou das vendas (Crave NX e afins) podem fazer disparar a cotação (caso sejam positivos)
Ao longo dos últimos meses tenho chamado a atenção para esta empresa. Espero ter contribuído para abrir a discussão sobre uma das mais promissoras empresas da área da biotecnologia americanas. O sucesso da generex, poderá abrir uma nova porta para o combate de doenças como o cancro que constitui um grande flagelo na sociedade global onde vivemos. A generex é ciência, e como tal, muitas vezes o resultado é imprevisto. Mas isso não tira o mérito à generex pela
contributo que tem dado à medicina.
Acredito que brevemente vamos ter mais notícias. Sobre esta empresa já disse quase tudo o que tinha a dizer.....

Uma cotação tão baixa, basta haver uma variação de 1 ou 2 cêntimos para haver uma variação de 3 ou 6 %.
E é só isso que está a acontecer.

Não vejo nada.
Não consigo encontrar o documento da generex onde vi essa informação. Logo que seja possível procuro melhor. Mas vê o documento da última conference call da generex. Deve Estar lá.

De qualquer maneira, o que está a limitar a GNBT é a aprovação do R/S e respectiva taxa de conversão, que irá ser feita dia 28 deste mês.
O Oral lyn se for aprovado é só para meados do próximo ano (2011). O que está em jogo agora, são os resultados preliminares da fase III do oral lyn. Além disso, ainda falta saber o resultado da reunião do dia 10 de junho com o nasdaq. E claro, os resultados da fase II do ae37 aplicado ao cancro da mama. Neste momento, a gnbt tem cash suficiente para continuar com estes projectos. Quanto ao reverse split, a reunião está marcada para, salvo erro, dia 28 de julho. Vamos lá ver o que vai acontecer até lá.....

GNBT: What Happened in Last Year May Recur in This Year

Stock price of Generex Biotechnology Corporation (GNBT) soared last June (2009) when the company released the positive phase 2 data of its flagship drug candidate Oral-lyn, and once reached 52-week high. One year later, GNBT gives up those gains and even more because of some chatter about Oral-lyn’s sales in some developing countries where clinical trials of Oral-lyn have not been done.
Surely I would rather analyze what opportunity investors may have in a panic selling situation than discuss the necessity of litigation between GNBT and the defendant here.
GNBT is a development-stage company. The company is engaged in the research, development and commercialization of drug delivery systems and technologies.
GNBT’s lead drug candidate Oral-lyn is an insulin spray for the treatment of Type I and Type II diabetes. Unlike the traditional subcutaneous injection, Oral-lyn delivers insulin to the membranes of the oral cavity by a simple asthma-like device. Insulin product will NOT be allowed to go to the lungs when patients use Oral-lyn in this study. Although insulin study is not new science, Oral-lyn could dramatically improve the life quality for diabetic patients by the fast and convenient needle-free method.
There are about 170 million people globally have both type 1 and type 2 diabetes, and this figure will more than double in two decades; Worldwide sales of insulin are expected to be about $14.5 billion in 2010, and this figure is increasing at a double-digit rate according to the World Health Organization.
Oral-lyn is currently in Phase 3 clinical trial, and it is available for patients with serious or life-threatening Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes mellitus under the Treatment IND program in the United States. Currently there is no buccal insulin product in the market, and this could be a monopolistic advantage for GNBT in this huge market once its Oral-lyn approved by FDA.
Phase 3 clinical results of Oral-lyn are expected to be released in this month according to some reliable sources.
On Jun 7, GNBT reported preliminary outcomes from the ongoing phase 3 trials. Data showed that patients who used Oral-lyn had more favorable results compared to patients who used injectable insulin: no weight gain on average, decrease in Body Mass Index and fewer severe hypoglycemic events. If a formal analysis of the phase 3 study confirms this positive trend, we may see a nice rally of GNBT’s stock price like last year.
As of April 30, 2010, GNBT had cash and cash equivalents about 19 million dollars and the company believed that their working capital was sufficient to meet their operation needs for the next twelve months. (10Q, P21).
GNBT is traded at about $0.32 on NASDAQ and the market capital is about 85 million dollars. This price is incredibly low compared to its potential market. The recent negative reports of GNBT obviously have some unfavorable effect on its share price, but it also can be a good opportunity for GNBT’s investors to collect undervalued shares, in my opinion.
For the argument of Oral-lyn’s sales, my take is that before the company finish the regulatory process in the United States, Oral-lyn’s sales in those developing countries at best could be better than nothing; for the NASDAQ qualification issue, GNBT has a reverse stock split proposal to vote in stockholders annual meeting on July 28. However, if Oral-lyn Phase III trial comes out with satisfactory results before the meeting, it perhaps will not be an issue anymore.
So will the history recur and GNBT have another nice rally in this July? The answer will be known soon.
