Portugal Telecom Concludes Its Takeover Bid for Hanaro Telec
Lisbon, Portugal, 18 August /Portugal Press/ -- Portugal Telecom S.A. today notified the Portuguese National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) that it was willing to waive the condition of a 75% minimum acceptance level to which its public offer for the acquisition of Hanaro Telecom, Inc. (KOSDAQ: 33630 - News; NASDAQ: HANA - News; "Hanaro" or "the Company"), shares was subject, taking into consideration that the response received will be sufficient to develop the business project pursued through the takeover bid.
According to the information released this morning by the CNMV, Portugal Telecom had obtained 3.6% of the shares of Hanaro Telecom, Inc it did not already own.
Portugal Telecom will now close its takeover bid for Hanaro Telecom with the payment of 5.25 euros for each of the 202 million shares that responded to the tender offer.
