Até tenho pena que os Ingleses tivessem sido eliminados do Europeu de 2008.
Portugal ganha-lhes sempre, por isso vamos assistir a menos uma vitória garantida.

Firms Pay Heavy Price For England Loss
Updated:13:54, Thursday November 22, 2007

Sports retailers, travel firms and pubs are all counting the cost of England's exit from the Euro 2008 football championships.

Croatia score third goal Newcastle boss Mike Ashley has warned his Sports World retail empire faces a major loss of earnings.

The chain, which has more than 450 stores in the UK, was hoping to cash in on sales of replica kits in the run-up to the tournament.

Kit maker Umbro also says it will also be hit by the failure to qualify for the finals of Euro 2008, in Austria and Switzerland.

It is predicting a big drop in hoped-for sales of the new England away top.

Shares in Sports Direct, the owner of Sports World, and Umbro fell sharply after the firms issued their warnings.

Travel operators, airlines, electrical retailers, pubs and supermarkets will also lose out massively after England were beaten 3-2 by Croatia at Wembley.

However, none will suffer as much as the Football Association which will reportedly miss out on a £100m cash bonanza.

England's defeat means that none of the home nations will be taking part in the tournament.

Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales also failed to qualify for the finals, as did the Republic of Ireland.

Some experts predict the combined loss to the UK economy could be as high as £2bn.
Um abraço e bons negócios.
