"There's this old adage," says Sam Stovall of Standard & Poor's Equity Research. "The bears have Thanksgiving, but the bulls have Christmas. So hopefully once we get through this week things will brighten up." However, Stovall thinks the market could soon see an 8-10% correction, as "most economists think we will be seeing a recession in the coming year or so," even if a recession never comes about.
