Tb concordo com esta análise, estive a analizar o "Historical Changes of the Target Federal Funds and Discount Rates", e uma coisa é certa sempre que houve redução da "Discount Rates" a "Target Federal Funds" acompanhou.

Já se sabe a data da proxima reunião da FED?

Esta intençao do Fed só vem reforçar o quanto eles estao preocupados com o crecimento economico e com os problemas do sector hipotecario.

A questao que se coloca é será que o mercado já descontou o pior cenario ( recessao nos Eua ) ?, eu sinceramente acho que ainda nao , por isso ainda vao vir mais dias daqueles iguais á semana passada.

Muitos vendam com perdas (ou seja, minimizam-nas nos rebounds) só alguns terão mais valias.

Certo a FED cortou as taxas mas não as da FED funds, cortou apenas as taxas que estão menos ligadas ao consumo privado (financiamento intermediario apenas) num movimento emergencial ...

Estive a ler e a 'digerir ' informação para ver se devo entrar longo nos mercados ...

neste momento estou longo em alguns titulos defensivos, e continuo curto nos indices (esta subida foi um respiro mas creio que a tendencia negativa e os riscos continuam, assim como as niticias de dificultades relativas ao crédito hipotecario).

Talvez por isso se assistiu a uma subida brutal no momento da noticia, mas depois os indices baixaram como se tomassem consciencia que nada estava resolvido, e mais valia tomar mais valias aproveitando a subida momentânea... temos momentos dificeis.

A: There is no particular number that I'm aware of specifically, but I think there is a clear evidence here that hedge funds are having to pull out of a number of positions, whether it be from redemptions or from simply the large losses elsewhere originating from the US credit market.

I think, the danger is that there is more of this to come until we get to the stage, where we start to see a little bit of risk appetite returning. Right now, our measure of risk appetite that we have been referring to topped out and it has been declining sharply since July 24 and just today it has entered into the risk averse mode on the daily basis. Once this starts to stabilise or recover, that would be the point when we think things will come back. Until then, it will require policymakers to continue providing liquidity.

Penso assim que o movimento vai continuar infelizmente para SUL (apos uma provavel subida no inicio de sessão de 2a que sera travada (ou reduzida) rapidamente aproveitada para tomada de mais valias de institucionais que continuam com grandes necessidades de liquidez divido às saidas massivas dos clientes expostos ao crédito imobiliario...
