:arrow: Ford has decided to sell Volvo, its $8 billion Swedish automotive unit, according to a report in the U.K.'s Sunday Times. The company refused to comment.

:arrow: Aluminum giant Alcoa which last week bowed out of the competition for Alcan, soon may have a suitor of its own. Australia's BHP Billiton asked its advisers, Merrill Lynch and JP Morgan, to consider a bid for Alcoa, according a Sunday report published in the U.K.'s Observer. Some Alcoa shareholders reportedly are pressing the company to sell or break itself up.
