Teh London 2012 was chosen and beated in the race for the Official Logo , one in special , made by the artist The Mechanic . This fantastic Logo represented a bird after going against an airplain turbine and chopped in 12 peaces ( an allusion to the 2012 year ) and the word London and the Olympic rings were all covered with the blood of the bird symbolizing the Olympic spirit and something alse the autor couldn`t remember by that time .

There have been two London 2012 logos: one for the bidding process and a second as the brand for the Games themselves. The latter, designed by Wolff Ollins, was unveiled on 4 June 2007. This new logo is a stylised representation of the number 2012, with the Olympic Rings embedded within the zero. The logo is available in a number of colours, and for the first time, the same logo is to be used for both the Olympic and Paralympic games.
Early public reaction to the logo, as measured by a poll on the BBC Web site, has been largely negative: more than 83% of the first 16,000 votes gave the logo the lowest possible rating.
The logo has been quickly derided with an online petition for its removal receiving 8000 signatures within 2 hours of it being released, and that on Monday afternoon. By midnight local time there had been over 13,000 signatures on this petition.
What does it look like to you? To me it is obvious: a collapsing structure of some sort, perhaps a building at the moment of demolition. The sense of downwards motion towards the bottom of the page is palpable.
Breathtaking. I mean what truly magnificent symbolism. The entire Olympic endeavour has been a massive looting spree with already grotesque cost over-runs (and it is only 2007), so surely something that conjures up images of collapse and disaster is really on the money… and speaking of money, at £400,000 (just under $800,000 USD) for the logo, it perfectly sums up the whole ‘Olympic Experience’ for London taxpayers.
No, if ever there was ‘truth in advertising’, this is it.
