Equity Strategy: nasty dip on the opening following reports from Syria that the US embassy there was attacked by terrorists. Fears are evaporating already and indices are roughly breaking even. We remain long in DAX from 5787, looking to keep it toward the opening bell overseas. We consider it an intraday trade as daily charts continue to look awful.

Blasts heard at US Syria embassy

Black smoke, heavy gunfire and explosions are being reported around the US embassy in the Syrian capital, Damascus.
Reuters news agency says security forces have surrounded the embassy compound and sealed off the area.

Syria is an authoritarian state where the security forces exert tight control on the population.

The capital has been the scene of several bomb attacks in the last few years.
