Com algum atraso coloco aqui a carta que Karp emitiu aquando da publicação recente dos resultados relativos ao Q3 com alguns comentários que escrevi noutro forum. Quem quiser ler o documento original tem aqui o link.

Sobre os resultantes somente um comentário: fantásticos. A empresa continua cara pelas métricas habituais, porém não tenho ilusões, o futuro vai passar por aqui.

Karp letter, an highly politized letter. Really apreciated it.

Karp wrote a few bright points (my view):

A rejection of any shared and defined sense of common culture, in this nation and others, has had significant costs.

We should, indeed must, return to a shared national experience—an embrace of common identity that by definition puts forward certain ideas, values, culture, and ways of living at the exclusion of others.

It is and was a mistake to casually proclaim the equality of all cultures and cultural values. Some have proven to be wondrous and generative. Others destructive and deeply regressive. And an even greater mistake is to believe that we could or should convert the world to our way of living.

For sure he marks the diference from other CEO's. He is not an ordinary lider, he clearly has a view from were us, lets call it "westerners", are, what is our common ground and where we should point from here. And also on an extraordinay sidenote he says "you cannot change the ones that don´t want to be changed".

Really apreciate his thinking.

Um pullback à zona 120-130 seria uma oportunidade de reforço para mim.

Tenho média nos 40$ número redondo, um pouco acima na verdade.

Creio convictamente que a Palantir vai ser o que a Microsoft ou a Amazon foram uns anos atrás.

Com isto dizendo não estou recomendar a compra a ninguém. Cada um segue as suas convicções.

US tech stocks sold off on Tuesday as a wave of concerns that intense enthusiasm surrounding artificial intelligence could be overdone slammed into some of Wall Street’s most speculative companies.

The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite was down 1.4 per cent by early afternoon in New York, with software group Palantir falling 9.2 per cent and chipmaker Arm Holdings shedding 4.5 per cent.

The decline left the index on track for its biggest one-day drop since August 1. The blue-chip S&P 500 was 0.7 per cent lower.

Traders pinned some of the decline on a report released late on Monday by a branch of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in which researchers said that “95 per cent of organisations are getting zero return” from their investments in generative AI, the technology that has sent US stocks soaring to a series of record highs in recent months.

“The story is spooking people,” said one trader close to a multibillion-dollar US tech fund.

“Just 5 per cent of integrated AI pilots are extracting millions in value, while the vast majority remain stuck with no measurable [profit and loss] impact,” the MIT report said.

The stock drop also came days after OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman signalled that an AI bubble might be forming.
“Are investors over excited? My opinion is yes,” Altman told reporters this week.

Palantir stock surges after company reports first billion-dollar quarter

Palantir (PLTR) stock rose more than 4% in premarket trading on Tuesday after the company reported second quarter results that beat analyst estimates across the board as its revenue topped $1 billion in a quarter for the first time.

"The growth rate of our business has accelerated radically," Palantir CEO Alex Karp said. "Yet we see no reason to pause, to relent, here."

Shares in the defense technology giant were up more than 4% in after-hours trade on Monday.

In its second quarter, Palantir posted earnings per share of $0.16, beating consensus estimates of $0.14 and up 77% from the same quarter last year. Revenue came in at $1.004 billion, Palantir's first quarter surpassing the billion-dollar mark on a quarterly basis. The company's top line also beat analyst forecasts for $939.25 billion and was up 48% year over year.

US commercial revenue came in at $306 million, growing 93% year over year, while US government revenue for the quarter was $426 million, up 53% from the same quarter last year. Analysts had estimated that sales for the two sectors would come in at $273 million and $391 million, respectively.
