"Aaron, the floor trader I spoke, who is obviously a much simpler man than the one you quoted, had this nostalgic take on the situation saying, "It was great; the pit actually had paper coming in and people were watching the order flow instead of screens and jumping and screaming. It was just like the old days." He also requested his name not be used. Nor his age.
I think these two takes highlight the difference between the floor trader (who realizes he's becoming an anachronism) and the guy plugged in upstairs. "
