There, that's the mentality of the average hedge fund manager these days when he sees green on his screen.


Frankly, I thought we would be better by now. I thought that somehow we wouldn't be buying KLA-Tencor on a bin Laden ramp or buying Dell on a switch of the vote by Cameroon. But that's just wishful thinking. Old habits die really hard around here.

Far be it from me to say that Applied Materials is a short here, but at least let's get our facts straight. If you think we are about to get war, the primary plays are the financials and the retailers, and they're followed by the oils and the defense stocks as next-day plays.

Digo isto, porque se nota que o mercado em geral a cair, as acções do ouro a cairem, e as techs a aguentarem-se, é claramente um resultado do público em geral a vender (tudo) e resgatar (fundos) por causa da guerra, traders a vender ouro por causa da guerra, e traders a comprar tech por causa da guerra (para o rebound).
