"Heading Into the Last Week Before War"

"To me, this market feels like a month-end markup after still one more horrid month. I would take action and sell a little because I think next week is going to be a really tough week.

Next week, I think, will be the last full business week before we go to war. It is also the first week where companies have to admit that the quarter isn't shaping up. We also have prices that are inflated a bit because of the markup, and we are not oversold.


To me, that adds up to a tough last week before a war, and a week that will produce a better time to buy at the week's end.

Understand that the low rates in bonds are forcing money into stocks right here and that's propping things up beyond the month-end markup. But that "out of bond, into stock" trade will not protect us next week.

So, to recap: I think war begins next weekend and you have to be ready for a quick drop with cash.

We are not at that drop yet. "
