Philly manufacturing activity accelerates in June
WASHINGTON (CBS.MW) - Manufacturing in the Philadelphia region accelerated in June, the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia reported Thursday.
The Philly Fed's activity index rose to 28.9 from 23.8 in May, the thirteenth month in a row above zero, which indicates expansion.
Economists were expecting the index to rise to 26.4, according to a MarketWatch survey.
The new orders index rose to 24.0 from 18.3 in May.
The shipments index rose to 26.2 from 20.2.
The employment index fell to 16.8 from 22.6 in May.
The prices paid index fell to 51.9 from 59.6.
