LONDON, June 3 (New Ratings) — Analysts at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein maintain their "hold" rating on Nokia (NOA3.ETR). The target price is set to €14.50.

Shares of Nokia, a Finnish telecom equipment and wireless technology solutions provider, are currently trading at €11.09.

According to Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein’s research note published this morning, Nokia’s handsets division sales and earnings are likely to be considerably short of expectations in the current quarter. The analysts mention that the company is likely to revise its June 2004 quarter sales and earnings guidance this month. However, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein expresses its optimism regarding the continued positive momentum in Nokia’s Networks division in this quarter.

The analysts expect the robust demand and spending trends in the mobile systems market to significantly boost sales growth in Nokia’s Networks division in the June quarter. The company is likely to provide a trading update for the current quarter this month, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein says. The analysts expect the company to introduce a new range of handset models before the end of this month.

The EPS estimates for 2004, 2005 and 2006 are €0.670, €0.710 and €0.751, respectively. The P/E estimates for 2004, 2005 and 2006 are 16.6x, 15.6x and 14.8x, respectively.
