Silverado Gold Mines Ltd. Announces Release of Green Fuel Technology
Video
May 17, 2004 - Vancouver, BC -- Canada - Fairbanks, Alaska -- USA
SILVERADO GOLD MINES LTD.
OTCBB: SLGLF / Frankfurt: SLGL / Berlin: SLGL
Silverado Gold Mines Ltd. (OTCBB: SLGLF) announced today the release of
a video highlighting the Company's Green Fuel technology. In the video,
which is available on the Company's web site at www.silverado.com in
either dial-up or broadband connection speeds, Silverado describes its
process of treating coal to its Low-Rank Coal-Water Fuel (LRCWF)
Preparation
Over the last 40 years researchers around the world have investigated
virtually every low-rank coal drying technology ever proposed. Of all
the low-rank coal drying technologies assessed, the most promising is
hydrothermal treatment (HT), sometimes called hot water drying. HT is
particularly effective for producing a concentrated LRCWF suitable for
many liquid fuel applications. Production of a liquid fuel with its
inherent environmental, transportation and utilization benefits also
eliminates the stability problems that have plagued all other low-rank
coal drying processes designed to produce a dried low-rank coal that
can be safely handled and transported.
Silverado already has about half of the necessary equipment for a Green
Fuel demonstration plant. Its idled gold recovery plant at the Grant
Mine currently contains much of the necessary equipment and ample space
in the buildings to accommodate the remaining equipment. The Company
has already assembled a team with all the engineering and expertise
necessary for commissioning and operating Green Fuel production and has
assembled a boiler test facility. Silverado believes that it can
complete the demonstration plant at a far lower price than comparable
North American projects would cost.
"We believe that this video captures the potential of our Green Fuel
demonstration plant and the need for developing a cost-effective energy
alternative," said Garry Anselmo, Silverado's Chief Executive Officer.
"We believe we are on the verge of announcing exciting developments
surrounding the project, and look forward to updating investors as
events warrant."
