Homebuilding, basic material, health care, and aerospace have been at the helm of the recovery effort, and have offset a bit of selling in semiconductor... That has likely been a contributing factor to the rally, and has offset worries about interest rates - which have actually fallen today with the slight uptick in the bond market... The recognition that the Fed - as signaled by Chairman Greenspan yesterday and Tuesday - is not especially eager to raise rates - and will raise them in a slow fashion should they choose to do so - has also helped improve sentiment...

DUSA
