LONDON (CBS.MW) -- Bundesbank President Ernst Welteke, a member of the European Central Bank's governing council, has resigned, a spokeswoman for the German central bank confirmed.
Welteke has come under pressure to resign over revelations he and his family spent four nights at a luxury Berlin hotel over the 2001/02 New Year on the expenses of Dresdner Bank.
