O Porque da subida do DAX
The German DAX Xetra 30 index (DE:1876534: news, chart, profile) rose 1.5 percent at 4,132 and the French CAC 40 index (FR:1804546: news, chart, profile) rose 0.5 percent at 3,776.
Deutsche Bank (DE:804010: news, chart, profile) (DB: news, chart, profile) surged 7.6 percent to 76.60 euros per share as a report from AFX citing trader talk that Citigroup may bid 90 euros per share for it sent shares surging. A bank spokesman in London declined to comment.
Deutsche has been at the forefront of German bank speculation of late, as the long-rumored talk of Commerzbank-HVB consolidation has ebbed.
Citibank, Bank of America, Credit Suisse and HSBC all have been named as suitors for the only German bank active in global investment banking.
