Chicago PMI eases from previous month, but still strong
CHICAGO (CBS.MW) -- Manufacturing activity in the Chicago area expanded for a 10th month in February, but fell from the brisk pace of January.
The Chicago Purchasing Managers Index stood at 63.5 percent vs. a 9 1/2-year high of 65.9 percent in January.
Readings over 50 denote expansion.
Economists thought on average the index would read 63.5 percent this month.
