Buy any lower, early moves or a BreakOut Buy for higher prices today.

Trade Setup Summary for Monday, November 10, 2003:
No TCF setups occured today.

* BreakDown occured first however the High Five were extremely bearish and there was no solid move 2-4 points lower near the B/D to get long. Stand aside action.

Recap of Monday's Action:
Good Morning and thank you for joining with us today.

On Monday we had a flat opening with the market pulling back slightly off that open after the first 20 minutes or so of trading.

Our Headline Call was looking for higher early prices with a higher open to be bearish for the market on Monday but in truth we got a mixed bag. The end result was more or less what we expected which was a "Go Nowhere" type day that we had clearly cautioned about.

We were looking for lower early prices to bring the market back up over the opening price later in the session but with the strong Bearish High Five the whole market was just in a weak state. The end result was just lower drifting.

So technically there was really no proper TCF Trade setup that occured without seeing the BreakDown give us a solid 2-4 point below the B/D entry at 1044.25-46.25 near the close timeframe of the B/D.

Today's Call & Briefing:
Today is a solid Buy day as we are seeing all of our Market Force indicators line up for what we are expecting to be an up day. With this in mind we are going to be looking to get long on any early pullbacks that test just below the Buy Pivot target and we are also going to be looking for a BreakOut Buy setup to possibly occur.

Today however is a holiday and the Treasury market is closed so we do want to be a bit extra cautious again if we see the market trading very lifelessly. It is hard to say exactly how the holiday and closed treasuries will affect any TCF setup that may occur but our indicators are calling for higher prices.

One important key for today will be to see the prices rise above the 1051.00 area. If this occurs and that price level holds we should be able to see a move up albeit slowly.

TCF TRADE SETUPS TO WATCH FOR TODAY: Let's go ahead and buy the Buy Pivot Target today in the early part of the session. We can use a 5 point stop on the trade below the original Buy Pivot target. (More below).

Watch for the BreakDown to be the first Hour One pivot today. If this occurs then we can buy the B/D and hold for a gradual rise in prices.

There is a chance of us getting a surprise BreakOut Buy today and as such we want to keep our eye out for a setup where we see the Dow Flat at the time of the BreakOut. Our definition of "flat" on the Dow is with the Dow up + 50 or less (and ideally not down much at the time of the B/O). If the NAZ (our nickname for the Nasdaq composite index$) is leading the markets up +12-15 or more then this sets the stage. All we do then is look for the TRIN to be below .80 and VIX lower and we are set. Buy this setup at the time of the BreakOut.

Value Area: 1,045.80 - 1,050.00
Here is a very vital trading area for today. If we can stay in this VA and move higher crossing over the 1051.00 area as mentioned earlier then we should be able to move higher. Resisting and holding below this zone spells lower prices and if you see the High Five looking especially bearish then it will back up the lower prices too.

Buy Pivot Target: 1,042.75 - 1,043.75
Let's go ahead and buy this Buy Pivot target today and place a stop at 1037.75. If the market OPENS on this price then wait for a lower move down to test the -4.25 stop/pivot at 1038.50 or slightly higher to enter.

Sell Pivot Target: 1,051.00 - 1,050.00
This is the top of the Value Area and also the area we need to cross to be bullish for today. Being the Sell Pivot Target this may be more challenging. No trade at this pivot today but watch for prices to take out the 1055.25 stop/pivot for higher prices. If they stall here today after opening flat to lower then most likely the market will just go flat.

If we get the lower buy at the Buy Pivot target or slightly lower then this would end up being a nice trade if they run up to here. Good luck.

10 Day "Pit Bull" Moving Average: 1,050.40
We can see that we also now have the double resistance up at this number with the Pit Bull here. Watch for resistance to see if we can move through this area or if it is going to become a new temporary ceiling for a trip down to the 1020.00 area. We are not entirely expecting this but at the same time we are carefully watching the day to day sequencing pattern of the market for bullish or bearish patterns. We are currently in a bearish pattern over the last 2 trading sessions.

Pro Trader's Action
Monday was a good day for standing aside and that is what we look to do as Pro Traders when the action is not setting up properly. The best thing to do for today with the Holiday and the Treasuries closed is to be willing to do the same today. The only thing we like is if we get that lower Buy Pivot target setup early and then we may push higher for a decent trade.

Buying the BreakDown looks good too but don't be overly anxious to Buy a BreakOut today unless it is really setting up nicely.

Good luck today and I'll see you in the action (if there is any). All the best, Mohan
