Sept. 24 (Bloomberg) -- The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries agreed to cut production quotas by 900,000 barrels a day, concerned about declining prices.

The accord was reached at a meeting in Vienna, and ministers will gather again on Dec. 4, an OPEC official said, declining to be identified by name. The reductions begin on Nov. 1.

Brent crude for November settlement was trading up 98 cents at $26.50 a barrel on London's International Petroleum Exchange at 12:35 p.m.
