WASHINGTON (CBS.MW) - Sales at U.S. wholesalers rose 1.5 percent in June while inventories were unchanged, the Commerce Department estimated Thursday.
The inventory-to-sales ratio fell to 1.22 in June from 1.23 in May, not far from the record low 1.21 recorded in February.
Sales of non-durable goods increased 1.8 percent behind a 7.3 percent rise in petroleum and a 6.2 percent increase in farm goods.
Sales of durable goods rose 1.1 percent in June on the strength of a 2.2 percent rise in autos and strong gains in electrical, machinery and lumber.
