"These Buyers Can't Walk Away, So They Walk Up"

"Curbs in place! I love it. The buyers, who have been on strike for 10 days, are back. And if they had a clue of what they were doing, they would walk away instead of walking up prices. But they can't, because buyers are three kinds of player:

First, there are the index buyers who keep coming back.


Second, there are the short-sellers who are panicking and covering because they can't take the pain and they have had some awful conversations with partners.

Third, there are the mutual fund 401(k) buyers who are simply putting the "in over the transom" money to work.

None of these buyers knows how to modulate buying, just as they don't know how to modulate selling!

So we get a rip-snorter that will roll into the overseas markets and lead to good prices in the morning, and then?

It's back to mutual fund selling."
