"Mutual Fund Monday is back and it's bigger than ever! All during the 1990s, we saw this pattern of Friday selloffs as the bulls rang the register, and Monday ramps as more money came over the transom.

Now that cash almost loses you money after fees and taxes, people are forcing money into this market in ways we haven't seen since the 1990s.


Of course, the pros all remember when this was a bad sign -- 1999 and 2000 -- and forget that this was exactly the way things were for years without any real problems or worries. The money would pour in over the transom and the managers would then scramble to put it to work.

That is what's happening now. For hedge funds that came of age in the last three years, this is a totally bewildering phenomenon. But anyone who's been around for the last 12 to 15 years recognizes a pattern when it's there, and this pattern is plain as day. "
