"That Saddam interview on CBS Wednesday night was a real rumor buzzkill. No way that guy's fleeing to Tripoli or taking a brokered Russian deal. No wonder the market went down Wednesday.

Without the "Saddam's out" rumors, you can't spook this market up to save its life. Because the numbers really are going to have to start coming down now.


Before Regulation FD, next week would be a disaster. That's because all of the diligent analysts out there would check in with the CFOs and find out about geopolitical freeze, that weird, global, "I'm now not doing any business" stuff that truly does exist.

Now we'll just have to hazard guesses about how much business was just lost because we are going to war.

The good news is that we are in countdown territory. You can count the days before we move. The bad news is that the market's open many of those days! "
