Nvidia Hikes 3Q Revenue View To $510 Million-$515 Million Vs $470 Million-$502 Million

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -(Dow Jones)- Nvidia Corp. (NVDA) increased its third- quarter revenue forecast as a product mix shift to, and share gains in, the GeForce 6 GPU family contributed to strong revenue growth in the company's DX9 performance segment.

In a press release Monday, the graphics and digital media processor company said it now expects third-quarter revenue of $510 million to $515 million, which would easily top an analysts' mean estimate of $489 million, according to a Thomson First Call survey of 17 analysts.

Previously, Nvidia projected third-quarter revenue of $470 million to $502 million.

A year ago, the company reported $486.1 million in revenue.

Nvidia also expects a third-quarter gross margin percentage of between 31.7% and 32.7%.

In after-hours INET trade, Nvidia shares rose 12% to $14.99 from the Nasdaq close of $13.34.
