U.S. crude, gasoline stocks up: Energy Dept

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS.MW) -- Oil futures continued lower after the Energy Department reported that crude stocks for the week ended June 4 were up 400,000 barrels at 302.1 million barrels.
Motor gasoline supplies rose 2.1 million barrels in the latest week to 206.4 million, the data showed.
Distillate inventories were down 600,000 barrels at 108.3 million barrels.
Following the news, July crude is down 78 cents at $36.50 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
July unleaded gasoline is down 3.43 cents at $1.132 a gallon and July heating oil is down 1.41 cents at 94.7 cents a gallon.


API posts bigger rise in gas, crude stocks

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS.MW) -- The American Petroleum Institute said gasoline inventories for the week ended June 4 rose 4.7 million barrels to total 205.5 million.
Crude stocks were up 2.7 million barrels at 303.4 million barrels last week, the API said.
The Energy Department had posted a smaller crude stock climb of 400,000 barrels.
Distillate inventories stood at 108.7 million barrels, up 1.7 million barrels, according to the API.
