Ming... isso do emprego é algo pernicioso... olhando para aquilo ali acima parece que anda tudo a melhorar, mas o facto é que faz muitos meses que se deveria andar a criar cerca de 200k empregos/mês.... e nada que se pareça.
E outra coisa: "Thousands of workers are exhausting their state benefits before finding work. The percentage of the 8 million unemployed who've been out of work longer than six months is near a 20-year high."
Digamos que da parte do Min. Emprego de lá... tenta-se passar uma imagem actualmente.. que foge ligeiramente ao 'retrato'.

Já agora:
Este disparo na inflação dos USA (principalmente devido à subida em dolares do preço do petróleo, mas não apenas a isso), na minha opinião não vai permitir ao FED manter as taxas de juro a este nível nem mesmo até às eleições.
O que eu espero é que haja apenas uma ou duas subidas de 0.25% até às eleições, mas que depois as taxas subam mais depressa...

U.S. jobless claims fall to 3-year low
WASHINGTON (CBS.MW) - The number of U.S. workers filing for state unemployment benefits fell to a three-year low last week, the Labor Department said Thursday.
The four-week average of initial claims dropped by 2,000 to 344,000, the lowest since the week of Jan. 27, 2001.
The number of claims in the week ending March 13 fell 6,000 to 336,000, the lowest since the week of Jan. 13, 2001.
The number of workers claiming the state benefits rose by 47,000 in the week ending March 6 to 3.06 million.
The four-week average of continuing claims dropped 15,000 to 3.06 million, the lowest since August 2001.
U.S. Jan. PPI up 0.6% on higher energy costs
WASHINGTON (CBS.MW) - U.S. producer prices rose 0.6 percent in January as energy prices jumped 4.7 percent, the Labor Department said Thursday in a report that was delayed for more than a month.
The core rate for the producer price index - excluding food and energy costs - rose 0.3 percent in January.
Economists were expecting the PPI to rise about 0.4 percent in January after the 0.2 percent gain in December, according to a survey conducted by CBS MarketWatch.
The core rate was expected to rise 0.1 percent after falling 0.1 percent in December.
Intermediate goods prices rose 0.8 percent.
Core intermediate goods prices increased 0.6 percent.
Crude goods prices rose 2.8 percent.
