Em principio ela vai ficar 1-2 anos na cadeia e muito provavelmente terá de sair da direcção da empresa, pelo menos durante uns 5 anos...
Sinceramente acho q o império vai ruir durante o tempo que ela vai estar na cadeia... é um império que está muito ligado a boa imagem dela e que sem ela n faz gd sentido...

Concordo, Nuno! espantoso este veredicto.... começa por ser uma acusação de inside trading, é ilibada e termina com uma condenação por obstrução à justiça, perjúrio emais não sei o quê. Caso para dizer que era vontade de a apanhar...
Apesar da personalidade conhecida por ser execrável e dura, penso que a américa se reúne aqui sentido simpatia por alguém que vai metido na prisão por condenação de um crime "menor".
Outra coisa, pelo que li, ela teria um termo relativamente curto, acho que eram 6 meses. Penso que o império se conseguirá aguentar, a ideia não é meter a Martha nas catacumbas dos estados unidos para sempre, Nuno. Claro que vai sofrer, mas não me parece que seja o fim de tudo. Ela voltará para continuar a fazer aquilo que a tornou rica.

Sem duvida que shortar a companhia dela na segunda feira parece-me um excelente negocio... A companhia esta intimamente ligada a ela, e sem ela perde cerca de 90% do valor... alias, acho q sem a Martha Stewart na lideranca a companhia n vale nada...
os programas de televisao ja comecaram a ser cancelados... niguem vai querer ouvir o que a "mulher do bom gosto e da bos postura social" nos vai dizer se ela esta presa, nao e????

Um júri de um tribunal nova-iorquino declarou Stewart e o seu corretor, Peter Bacanovic, culpados pelos crimes de obstrução à justiça e conspiração num caso que envolve a venda de acções da farmacêutica ImClone.
Cada um dos crimes prevê penas de prisão até cinco anos e um multa de 250 mil dólares. Os jurados consideraram que Stewart, 62 anos e uma figura muito popular nos EUA, tentou interferir nas investigações que as autoridades reguladoras do mercado de capitais norte-americano desenvolveram sobre o assunto.
A pena a aplicar à empresária e ao seu corretor será conhecida a 17 de Junho.
